Oh yes! It feels so great to be back! It’s been a long long time since i posted on my blog at Rediff…
Well, things have not been so good at my end! I have had so many experiences in the past two months. Have come across all kinds of people, good as well as bad! Not to mention, most of them have turned out to be bad! Have been in bed for a couple of weeks because of typhoid. But i’m good now…
Well, not all things have been bad. There have been opportunities and i haven’t missed out on them! I have registered for an open-source project in a sort of a competition that is being organised by IBM and GIL. (Gujarat Informatics Ltd.)
Will be writing in detail about the IBM project in the next post. As for now, it feels great to be expressing myself again! No more words, except I’M BACK!

INVITE - Initiative to Nurture a Vibrant Information Technology Ecosystem

Project INVITE is a collaborative effort of IBM & GIL (Gujarat Informatics Ltd.) The project is currently open for any student in any recognized university across Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The objectives of the project, as taken from the official site are as follows :-

The project that i have chosen is “Kala Academy - A Portal for Artists“. The basic requirements of this project scenario include the creation of an online web portal for artists across Gujarat, where they can upload and publish their Art – images, documents, description, blogs, artist profile etc. All this has to be managed inside a central database.
Also, the technologies that u can use for any scenario MUST be open source. Examples include PHP, Java, Eclipse, Apache Derby database, MySQL, JBoss, etc. Or i can use IBM products like WebSphere Studio, WebSphere Application Server, DB2, etc. My current scenario selection leaves me with PHP-Eclipse-MySQL environment. I have an option of DB2 but i’m not yet familiar with it.

It’s going to be real tough managing to create all this single-handedly. This particular scenario has a maximum team member limit of 4, but i’m the only one in my team. Only one other student from our class has dared to register for the project. Winning teams get a cash prize of Rs. 5000 per head, not what i’m quite much interested in. But the certificate of participation is going to be really valuable!

I need to spend lots and lots of time for this. Dynamic content management is something i haven’t ventured in as yet. Need all the possible luck to even finish the project. Anyone who can come up with any ideas or suggestions is welcome!

First things first, thanks to every one for the birthday wishes! A BIG hug to Bhumi! (I never even thought someone would write a birthday post about me!!!) Special thanks to DJ! And thanks once again to everyone else….

Well, my birthday did not turn out to be such a special day for me! It was at 12:00 pm that i decided that i was gonna treat my friends at US Pizza. I knew things were too sudden but still, somehow i called up all my close friends and we decided to meet at about 6:45. What made me go low, infact was that my best buddy didn’t turn up on time. I knew she had some important work to do, and maybe that was taking her long. I didn’t even cut my cake and made everyone else wait till she comes! EVERY other person! And then she finally turned up when there were about 15 minutes left for us to leave! I couldn’t have minded that! But then, i came to know something that really shattered me and broke me into pieces! She was in some get-together with some of her old classmates!!! And she ended up saying that they were discussing about something “serious”! Fine, agree! But one of my friends, who was in the same get-together turned up almost on time! Now what is this supposed to mean? She cannot even let go of a stupid get-together just for the sake of my birthday??? I don’t feel like even talking to her any more! And she says i’m taking this too seriously and too far! Is it? How much does a person mean to you when you cannot give him a smile on his face for just one day in a year??? And she says i mean a lot to her! She says this is forgiveable! Is it? It doesn’t seem so forgiveable to me! I have been feeling this heaviness in my chest till this very second after this happened! Nothing has ever hurt me so much! How do i trust her now?

And this is infact, not the first time something like this has happened! I feel i’m the last person on her list! I never get priorities, she has the time to meet and party with the rest of the world! But when it comes to me, she has to come up with some or the other reason to prevent us from meeting! And at the same time, she goes out with her friends! And all her stupid reasons seem valid only for me!

She is one person who makes all the possible difference in the world for me! And i don’t even expect things from anyone else! I am seriously confused! Infact, i’m shattered, broken and hurt! I don’t know how to even react to this! Haven’t talked to her since that day and haven’t even answered her calls!

I’m in no mood to say anything else…

Have been busy with exams last week… The 3rd internals. They were horrible!
And now, i have viva this week! So gonna be running around this week too!
Missed out completely on Navratri!

Exams done with and Diwali holidays start…
Have been VERY occupied with the IBM project. It’s going on fine and i’m well on track. Please take note that i’ve uploaded some pages for you guys to test. You can get the URL and the details here.
My cousin is getting married on 26th Nov. Getting a smart blazer done today. And lots and lots of more shopping to do! Can’t wait for the ’shaadi ka’ atmosphere…
